Empowerment & Collaboration Through Education

Since our beginnings in 2015, ACTT has been committed to providing extensive education as a pathway to both build networks of collaboration and to empower communities to take action on climate change. Lack of knowledge, whether real or perceived, can be a significant barrier to participating in planning, implementation, and advocacy and/or taking positions of leadership. Furthermore, many of the decisions communities face related to climate action and building resilience carry considerable nuance. Building local knowledge both supports increased participation as well as the ability of decision-makers to consider nuance and root climate action in local priorities, challenges, and opportunities.

Education is also an essential part of building local capacity for climate action and resilience building. Through programs like the Climate Ambassadors, we support participants as they find their way into effective action, participation in solutions, and leadership, thereby increasing local capacity.

Addressing climate change will take all of us, finding our unique contributions to the patchwork puzzle of solutions that are needed. ACTT’s educational programming empowers communities and individuals alike to step into their own part in the unfolding process of climate work.
